Comparing data over different time periods

Learn how to report on metrics over different time periods and display a percentage difference.

It is possible to report on metrics from time different periods and show a percentage difference in the data table, for example comparing this year's foot traffic with previous year's. Follow the steps below:

  1. Follow the procedure for creating a report. Select 'Reports | New data selection' in the left side menu.
  2. Enter the reporting parameters in the New data selection dialogue box. Select 'Report options' button and tick both 'Compare Periods' and 'Show diff instead of index'.
  3. In the New data selection dialogue box, an additional drop down list will appear next to the 'Period' parameter. Select the period to compare with, for example, same weekday pervious month.
  4. Select 'Apply' to generate the report.
